Andrew Weissmann is an American attorney, lawyer and professor from New York City. He became famous for working as an Assistant United States Attorney from 1991 to 2002. Weissman also spent a few years serving as the chief criminal head for the US Department of Justice. In 2017, he began working as an appointed manager for the 2017 special contest which Robert Mueller currently heads. Andrew joined the private sector after a special counsel investigation was concluded in 2019.  He also makes frequent appearances as a Legal Analyst on MSNBC News.

Andrew first began his career by working as an Assistant Attorney for the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York back in 1991. He maintained his job from 1991 to 2002. From there, Weissman began working as the deputy director for George Washington Bush as the director of the task force.

He became responsible for investigating the Enron Scandal. Andrew then became in charge of the prosecution of more than 30 people for crimes including perjury, fraud and obstruction for top successful businessmen and American celebrities like Andrew Fastow, Jeffrey Skilling and Kenneth Lay.

In 2005, Weissman began appearing as a special counsel for Mueller before venturing into private practice at Jenner & Block. As of 2017, Weissman has been working with a team of Muller’s investigators to research Russian Interference in the 2016 United States Elections.
