Following the immense success of his book, Torode launched his own restaurant called Cafeteria. He then began presenting the Good Food Channel alongside Hardeep Singh Kohli known as New British Kitchen. He then landed other TV appearances on BBC’s The Magicians, BBC Good Food, and BBC News. In 2005, John landed his big break by hosting BBC’s Masterchef and working with Conran Group’s restaurants.
