Iko Uwais is a popular Indonesian actor, fight choreographer, and martial artist known for his roles in several international action movies. He first gained fame for playing the lead star role in “The Raid” (2011), “The Raid 2” (2014), and a feature role in “Merantau”. Iko won the Best Film award after the film was released by the Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea and Texas in the United States. This major move earned him attention both locally in Indonesia and internationally. Uwais then landed his next big role by doing a collaboration with Gareth Evans on The Raid. The film was initially released as Raid: Redemption in March of 2011 and mid-2012.
Uwais’ lead role in the film received critical acclaim but it ultimately became his breakout role. This prompted the second release of The Raid 2 with Uwais among the Key lead stars of the film.
